FOOTMAXX ORTHOTICS
What are Prescription Orthotics?
Prescription Orthotics are a semi-rigid plastic with a vinyl covering that insert into footwear. The orthotics are fabricated specifically for a patient's unique foot characteristics and are designed to compensate for biomechanical deficiencies.
Active Orthotics utilizes the Footmaxx System to analyze each unique gait pattern. From the computerized analysis of the gait pattern and an examination of the feet by the accredited clinician, a prescription orthotic is fabricated by Footmaxx to correct the underlying biomechanical deficiency of the patient's foot. Like prescription eyeglasses, prescription orthotics are custom-designed for each individual patient.
Footmaxx orthotics provide superior control and correction for foot and gait abnormalities. Custom made specifically for you, the orthotics will correct and improve the way your feet strike the ground, enhancing your natural movement and helping your feet move more efficiently.
Active Orthotics utilizes a computerized system developed by Footmaxx that has utilized a database of over 20,000 patients and has taken 13 years to develop. Footmaxx is now the largest orthotic company in North America. At the heart of the system is the Gait and Pressure Analysis Report that is generated by state-of-the art proprietary Footmaxx software. Patients walk across a pressure plate (mat) that is connected to a computer. The mat has 960 sensors that take an impression 30 times per second. This gives a detailed and accurate explanation of how your foot is working in the dynamic (moving) state. The information gathered from the gait analysis allows clinicians to study pressure distributions across the plantar surface of the foot during the kinetic stance phase of gait, and then utilizes this information to prescribe and produce orthotic devices and gait analysis reports.
